Expanding Job Opportunities for Ironworkers & Employers

Contractors who become signatory with the union are eligible for a full suite of benefits and member programs, courtesy of IMPACT (Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust).

IMPACT is funded in equal parts by the contributions of labor and management members who have elected to include the program in their collective bargaining agreements. Local unions and signatory contractors oversee IMPACT in equal partnership.

By joining the union, you join into a cooperative that is committed to increasing the competitiveness and market share of the union ironworker industry.

      What You Need to Know

      Union Benefits

      Skilled Workers
When you need work, pick up the phone and order iron workers. Our members are skilled and trained in every aspect of the trade, including structural, ornamental, rigging, window installation, to name just a few.
      Training
Our apprentices and journeymen are fully trained in every aspect of ironwork, including welding, blueprints, structural, ornamental, welding, precast erection, window installation, rigging, and foreman training. In addition, our ironworkers take safety classes (with 10 and 30 hours in OSHA), fork lift classes, scaffold user and erector classes, and first aid CPR training to provide you a safe and skilled workforce.
      Apprentices
Ironworkers have a federally registered apprenticeship program taught in local union training facilities across the United States. Apprenticeship is a four-year program teaching all components of ironwork. Apprentice wages are based on experience level and time in the apprenticeship program.
      Health & Pension Funds
As a signatory contractor, you can eliminate the research and red tape needed to obtain health care and pension funds for your employees. Our collectively bargained health and welfare fund and pension fund, overseen by trustees from both management and union, provide quality coverage for your employees.
